Wendell Kennison

    Wendell Harold Kennison, age 87, of Summer Shade passed away on Saturday, February 05, 2023 at the T.JSamsonCommunityHospital. Born on July 29, 1935 in BreckinridgeCounty, he was a son of the late Lottie Compton Kennison and Harold Kennison. Wendell was a member of Kilwinning Lodge # 506 in Louisville, and had served in the United States Air Force’s 9218^th Air Recovery Squadron and Air National Guard. He was retired from the Kenway Chemical Company where he worked in sales for many years.

   He is survived by three sons, Roger Kennison (Cherie) of Mt. Washington, KY, Greg Kennison (Linda) of Glasgow, and Michael Kennison of Louisville; one brother, Gary Kennison ( Marsha) of Louisville; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild also survives.

 In addition to his parents, Wendell was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lois Ann Kirsch Kennison and two daughters, Tresa Kinslow and Carol Kennison.

  Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 10 at 2 P.M. from the chapel of McMurtrey Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 09 from 4 P.M. until 7 P.M., and will continue on Friday, February 10 from 8 A.M until service time at 2 P.M. Masonic rites will be conducted on Thursday, February 09, at 6.PM. at the McMurtrey Funeral Home.
