Ray Allen Brewster

   Ray Allen Brewster, age 91, of Summer Shade, died Monday, February 9, 2015, at NHC Healthcare, Glasgow.

   Born April 12, 1923 in Burkesville, Ky., he was a son of the late Andy and Nannie Westmoreland Brewster and the husband of Betty Baker Brewster, who survives. They were married 68 years.

   He was a farmer, of the Baptist faith, and a World War II veteran of the Navy.

   He is survived by one granddaughter, Shannon (John) Key, Summer Shade; two great grandchildren, Luke and Corbyn Key; and one daughter in law, Lela Shaw Brewster.

   He was preceded in death by two sons, Phillip Dale and infant son Roger Brewster; six brothers, Thomas, Albert, Bill, Otis, Claude, and Roy Brewster; and one sister Florence Dicken.

   Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at 1:00 PM at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with Bro Mark Parks, officiating, and burial to follow in the SummerShadeCemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at 12:00 AM until 8:00 PM and continue Wednesday morning after 7:00 AM until time of services.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Summer Shade Fire Department.
